Press Release #28 (4/15/09)
iN DEMAND NETWORKS ANNOUNCES NHL CENTER ICE REPLAY FEATURE ON DIGITAL CABLE BEGINS TODAY WITH PLAYOFF ACTION
New Added Value Feature Enables Fans to Enjoy Immediate Repeats of Games
NEW YORK, April 15, 2009 -Tax Day has a bright side for hockey fans. Starting today, April 15, and through the second round of the playoffs, subscribers to the NHL Center Ice out-of-market package will receive replays of same day games. In this new enhancement which is free to customers, the NHL Center Ice package will re-air each current day's game beginning approximately one hour after the live game ends so that fans can see games they might have missed. Each game will replay in its entirety and will repeat continuously overnight and the next day, on the same channel, until the following day's live games begin.
The "Replay Game" feature means that there will be approximately 4-5 replays for single, scheduled games. Live games scheduled back-to-back will be replayed in that same order, so that there will be approximately 2-3 replays before game-time the following day. No games will be bumped from the package to accommodate replay games. Blackout and other restrictions apply.
The NHL Center Ice package includes games in the first two rounds of playoff competition, as in past seasons. The Race to the Stanley CupTM package is currently available for $79. In addition, the package offers select games each week in high definition. More information about NHL Center Ice is available at www.gethockey.com.
This season, fans have continued to receive free enhancements including NHL LEAGUEWIDE, a rotating mosaic of multiple screens that shows live action games being played around the league, along with score, time clock and channel location. In addition, customers continue to enjoy NHL CENTER ICE EXTRATM, a live source for scores, statistics, game previews, game recaps and schedule information.
Among the cable MSOs offering the package distributed by iN DEMAND Networks this year are: Comcast, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Bright House Networks, Cablevision Systems, Bresnan Communications, Charter Communications, Midcontinent, a number of independent MSOs; plus Rogers Cable in Canada.
Residential customers or commercial establishments can "Order Now" by calling 1-888-SPORTS-iN or their local cable provider.
