A Rotating Mosaic with Multiple Live Games and NHL Center Ice Online
New York - Oct.02 - iN DEMAND Networks has renewed a deal with the National Hockey League (NHL) for distribution of the NHL CENTER ICE digital subscription package starting with the 2007-08 season, it was announced by Robert D. Jacobson, President and CEO, iN DEMAND Networks. Starting this year, the package of up to 1,000 out-of-market games will include several new free enhancements for fans. One is NHL CENTER ICE LEAGUEWIDE, a rotating mosaic of multiple screens that shows live action games being played around the league, along with score, time clock and channel location. Also, iN DEMAND′s affiliates will be able to offer the broadband content of NHL Center Ice Online through NHL.com at no extra charge to their authorized television subscribers. The package will be made available immediately to all eligible cable affiliates throughout the United States.
The package begins with a free preview period, starting immediately until Oct 9, 2007. During that time, the Early Bird/Auto Renewal cost is $149. The regular season offer is available from Oct. 10, 2007-Jan. 24, 2008 with an SRP of $169 for the Full Season and $119 for the Half Season from Jan. 25 - March 7, 2008. The Race to the Stanley Cup Playoffs is March 8 - end of the season for $59. The package will include approximately 40 games per week. In addition, the package will present up to six games each week in high definition.
The NHL Center Ice Leaguewide mosaic, which is free to NHL Center Ice subscribers, will rotate live action telecasts for every hockey game playing concurrently through a four part screen with scores and time clocks, plus the channel designation should viewers want to flip over to another game. In addition, viewers will get current scores from around the League, updated in real time. The mosaic has been a popular addition to the NBA League Pass package.
In addition, for the first time ever, iN DEMAND affiliates will have the option of making the League′s broadband content from NHL Center Ice Online through NHL.com available at no additional charge to cable customers who are authorized subscribers to the TV product.
Another enhancement, which has been popular in previous seasons, will return again this year. NHL CENTER ICE EXTRA is a live source for scores, statistics, game previews, game recaps and schedule information.
"We are pleased to once again provide the NHL Center Ice package to the legions of passionate hockey fans via cable systems around the country," said Mr. Jacobson. "There is simply no better way to enjoy this powerful and fast-moving sport than to have access to every game, a new multi-screen mosaic, plus all the stats and previews, all at your fingertips."
About the NHL
The National Hockey League, founded in 1917, is the second-oldest of the four major professional team sports leagues in North America.
