Movies On Demand on Cable Schedule Update – December 2014

Movies On Demand on Cable Update – December 2014

Viewers will find three major box office juggernauts making their television premieres in December via Movies on Demand on cable.

December explodes into action with three blockbuster action/sci-fi hits, which all combine live action and computer generated characters. The month is anchored by biggest film of the year so far, Marvel’s huge sci-fi success, Guardians of the Galaxy, with Chris Pratt leading a band of irreverent misfits to save the galaxy. It received over 90% from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes. Equally loved by both critics and audiences is the latest franchise chapter, Dawn of the Planet of the Apes, as the band of genetically-modified super smart apes and humans battle it out for dominance of the earth. In Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, it is only New York City that needs saving, but who better to call on than four reptile brothers from the sewers.

If you missed it in theaters, MOD gives viewers a chance to see Denzel Washington in the action thriller, The Equalizer, where he has met his match against brutal Russian gangsters.

Also, notable is Helen Mirren starring in The Hundred-Foot Journey, about a clash of gastronomic cultures when an Indian family opens a restaurant 100 feet from Mirren’s Michelin-starred French establishment.

This Is Where I Leave You, a dramedy based on Jonathan Tropper’s best-selling novel, stars Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Jane Fonda and Adam Drive. Another title based on a best-selling young-adult novel is The Maze Runner, a sci-fi adventure about a group of boys who find themselves trapped in a huge maze and separated from the rest of the world.
