New York, Oct. 25 – Movies On Demand (MOD) on cable has scared up a frightful collection of new release and classic thrillers to keep cable audiences across the country in goose bumps this Halloween, including some of the most revered horror franchises, whimsical kids’ content, and campy original holiday videos.* With more than 1,000 titles available, this is the biggest-ever Halloween movie collection for cable’s VOD platform.

 

NEW RELEASE SCARY TITLES*

Several frightening new releases are now playing on demand for 2017 Halloween:

The Mummy (Tom Cruise, Annabelle Wallis), It Comes At Night (Joel Edgerton, Riley Keough), 47 Meters Down (Claire Holt, Mandy Moore), Wish Upon/ Wish Upon (Unrated), Annabelle: Creation, The Dark Tower/The Dark Tower: Good Vs. Evil Edition (Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey – Premieres on Halloween Night), A Ghost Story (Casey Affleck, Rooney Mara), The Limehouse Golem (Bill Nighy, Olivia Cooke), The Sound (Rose McGowan, Christopher Lloyd), Super Dark Times, The Beguiled (Nicole Kidman, Kirsten Dunst – a remake of Clint Eastwood’s film, directed by Sophia Coppola), and last but not least, 78/52 Hitchcock’s Shower Scene, a documentary about the seminal horror scene of all time.

 

CLASSICS AND FRANCHISES

Famed Horror Franchises* – Films from some of the most memorable classic horror franchises that ever haunted the screen return to cable this Halloween, including The Conjuring, Halloween, Friday the 13th, A Nightmare on Elm Street, Alien, The Addams Family, Evil Dead,  Phantasm, Saw, Ghostbusters, and Final Destination.

Classic and Recent Horror Movies* – Also playing are hundreds* of classic and recent horror and thriller titles. Here’s just a sample: Ouija, The Bye Bye Man, Annabelle, Greasy Strangler, Hocus Pocus, Sinister, The Exorcist, The Omen, The Shining, The Hills Have Eyes (2006), Paranormal Activity, Children of the Corn, The Crow, and many more.

Kids and Family Halloween* – Kids and families can get into the Halloween “spirit,” on MOD with spooky pumpkins, monsters and magic from franchises or titles such as Harry Potter, It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown, Paranorman, Coraline, Monster High, Scooby-Doo, The Addams Family, Monster House, and new favorites such as Hotel Transylvania 2.

 

Viewers can find Halloween titles by going to their On Demand menus on most of the major systems such as Spectrum, Xfinity, Cox Communications, Optimum, RCN and Midcontinent. Many titles can also be found in the A-Z folders within Movies On Demand on various cable systems.

 

STREAMING PUMPKIN AND MORE FREE VIDEOS ON DEMAND – on cable and online

MOD presents its exclusive Free On Demand (FOD) Jack-O-Lantern, a glowing pumpkin, set to appropriately creepy music, plus seven scary and whimsical Halloween-themed videos, perfect backgrounds for Halloween parties.
