MOVIES ON DEMAND ON CABLE UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 2017
Get ready for action as fall energizes us with a September 2017 Movies on Demand slate delivering one of the biggest hits of the year, Wonder Woman. Plus, a wide selection of major studio and indie new releases make their television premieres via Movies on Demand (MOD) on cable’s VOD platform.
Wonder Woman has just crossed into the stratosphere as the biggest non-sequel comic book movie of all time, directed by Patty Jenkins. The charismatic Gal Gadot empowers women everywhere as Diana, princess of the Amazons, now known to the world as Wonder Woman. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will use her full powers to restore peace, and secure her true destiny. In Transformers: The Last Knight, Humans and Transformers are at war and hope seems lost, as Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving the future of the human race lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth.
The Mummy is a reboot of the iconic original story and the first in the “Dark Universe” series. Tom Cruise stars in this spectacular version of the legend, where he must save London from a resurrected Egyptian princess who embarks on a vicious rampage. In Captain Underpants: The First Epic Movie, DreamWorks Animation presents the hysterically heroic story of two fourth-grade BFFs who accidentally hypnotize their principal into believing he’s a dimwitted hero.

Indie premieres on MOD for September 2017*
From Japan, to Israel and France, notable international films and a documentary about films highlight our September titles. See full list below.
Garnering 100% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and a Cannes Film Festival prize, Harmonium is a Japanese film about a father who hires an ex-prisoner in his workshop, who gradually upends the family’s idyllic life.
Certain film themes are immediately recognizable and we all remember how we feel about the film just by hearing a few notes. With 92% positive on Rotten Tomatoes and seven film festival awards to its credit, Score: A Film Music Documentary is about the power of music to drive the narrative in film. To quote famed director James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar), “The score is the heartbeat of the film.”
In the French film Lost In Paris, the filmmakers play the starring roles. A Canadian librarian travels to Paris to find her elderly aunt who has gone missing, and while searching, she crosses paths with a pesky vagabond, leading to a quirky slapstick love story. Finally, in the Israeli film The Wedding Plan, a jilted Orthodox bride is determined to find another husband in time for the original wedding date. A poignant and funny romantic comedy about love, marriage and faith in life’s infinite possibilities.
