Movies On Demand on Cable Update – May 2017

May 2017 features award-winning, popular and critically acclaimed recent new releases making their television premieres via Movies on Demand (MOD) on cable’s VOD platform.  Both majors and indies feature notable films this month.

Highlights from the majors:

Boasting 92% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and a huge worldwide box office take, Logan has become the fourth highest-grossing R-rated film of all time. Hugh Jackman will hang up his claws as Wolverine after this last of the series, where he plays a weary Logan caring for an ailing Professor X (Patrick Stewart) until he is drawn into a live-or-die mission.

This month, MOD viewers get a chance to see Get Out With Bonus Content, including an alternate ending, deleted scenes and more. Jordan Peele made his directorial debut in Get Out and was rewarded with 99% positive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes.  It is the story of a young African-American man (Daniel Kaluuya) who visits his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family estate and becomes ensnared in the more sinister, real reason for the invitation.

Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Darker, the second chapter based on the worldwide bestselling Fifty Shades book phenomenon.
