As summer hits its stride, August 2017 Movies on Demand delivers one of the biggest hits of the year, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and a wide selection of major studio and indie new releases also make their television premieres via Movies on Demand (MOD) on cable’s VOD platform.

Perfect to see again or for the first time is the box office juggernaut Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Set to the sounds of Awesome Mixtape #2, the Marvel Studios’ sequel brings back Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Bradley Cooper, and their trademark irreverence, as the team unravels the mystery of Star-Lord’s parentage.  In Alien: Covenant, Ridley Scott’s latest in his masterful deep space franchise, the crew of the ship Covenant venture onto a less-than-hospitable planet which is unfortunately not the paradise they dreamed of. But no worry, there are plenty of alien “Neomorphs” to infect the action.

The reboot of Baywatch follows the devoted lifeguard, played by Dwayne Johnson, as he butts heads with a brash new recruit (Zac Efron). Together, they uncover a local criminal plot that threatens the future of the Bay, while featuring lots of eye-candy. In Snatched, Goldie Hawn plays Amy Schumer’s mother and these opposites go on a jungle adventure vacation together.
