Q: I ORDERED THE MAJOR LEAGUE SPORTS PACKAGE AND IT’S NOT SHOWING UP ON MY TELEVISION. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
A: Please contact your local video service provider to make sure they have received your order request. Only they can authorize your set-top box or troubleshoot problems with your signal. iN DEMAND is a distributor to the cable or telco providers and has no access into your home.
If you can’t receive the signal, your set-top box may be outdated. Please double check with your system that your box has no issues. It may need to be rebooted or replaced.

Q: WHAT ARE BLACKOUTS?
A: Blackouts are regional television restrictions that are required by all the leagues in order to protect the rights of local broadcasters. Blackout restrictions are based on the home team’s television territory as defined by each league. Blackouts apply regardless if the team is playing home or away, and if there is local coverage or not.
Q: THE GAME I WANT IS BLACKED OUT. WHAT SHOULD I DO?
A: Normally a blacked out game is available for you to watch on a local channel. If a game is blacked out when you think it shouldn’t be, please contact your video provider and tweet to their customer care handles as described above.
HOW TO ORDER
Q: DO I HAVE TO ORDER THE FREE PREVIEW?
A: Free previews are available in some systems at the beginning and middle of the seasons. If your system offers them, just tune to the package channels and enjoy the games! To find the channels, click here and enter your zip code and system.
Q: DO I NEED ANY SPECIAL EQUIPMENT TO VIEW OUT-OF-MARKET SPORTS PACKAGES ON MY SYSTEM? DO I NEED A SET-TOP BOX, FOR EXAMPLE?
A: In order to be able to order any of the sports packages, you need a digital set-top box through your provider. This enables your cable or telco company to authorize your household to receive the programming, much like other scrambled programming such as HBO or Showtime.
Q: WHAT ARE OUT OF MARKET SPORTS PACKAGES?
A: These packages bring you regular season games from around the country. Even if you live in one city and your team is in another, the packages let you see the match-ups you want to watch. The games included on these packages are in addition to those available on national broadcast networks, FOX, ESPN, ESPN2, TBS, league networks and your local in-market networks (such as a regional sports network and/or over-the-air network).
Q: WHAT CHANNELS ARE THE PACKAGES ON AND HOW CAN I GET A SCHEDULE?
A: Channels vary by system. You can view or download the monthly schedule and channel locations by going to the package pages on our website and putting in your zip code. You can view online, download a PDF, or sign up for a monthly email.
Q: ARE PLAYOFF GAMES INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE?
A: No. Those are all available on national networks.
Q: IF I ONLY WANT TO WATCH MY HOME TEAM, SHOULD I PURCHASE A SPORTS PACKAGE?
A: The packages we offer, from MLB, the NBA, the NHL and MLS are designed for fans who wants to see games other than those involving their home team. Home team games are generally available on your Regional Sports Network or over-the-air affiliate station.
Q: ARE HIGH DEFINITION GAMES INCLUDED IN THE PACKAGE?
A: Yes, many high definition games are available in the in the package at no additional cost. Carriage varies by provider. Please check with your local provider for details.
Q: DO I HAVE TO HAVE DIGITAL SERVICE TO ACCESS THIS PACKAGE?
A: Yes, out-of-market sports packages are only available to subscribers with digital service.
NATIONAL BROADCAST GAMES
Q: WHAT ARE THE NATIONAL BROADCAST RIGHTS/RESTRICTIONS?
A: When games are televised nationally on broadcast or cable networks (such as: MLB Network, NBA TV, NHL Network, ESPN, NBC, TNT, etc.) they are not permitted to be included in the out of market packages. Tune in to the national broadcast in order to see these games.
Q: HOW ARE HOME MARKETS DETERMINED?
A: Each league makes the determinations based on counties and zip codes.
Q: WHAT ARE THE PACKAGE DATES AND HOW MANY GAMES ARE INCLUDED?
2017 SEASON: 4/2/17 – 10/1/17. Package includes up to 80 live out-of-market regular season Major League Baseball games per week.
2017 – 2018 SEASON: 10/17/17 – 4/11/18. Package includes up to 40 live out-of-market regular season NBA games per week.
2017 – 2018 SEASON: 10/4/17 – 4/7/18. Package includes up to 40 live out-of-market regular season NHL games per week.
2017 SEASON: 3/3/17 – 10/22/17. Season package includes more than 240 out-of-market regular season MLS games from all teams in the league.
