Movies On Demand on Cable Schedule Update – December 2013

Movies On Demand (MOD) closes out the year with a diverse selection of filmed entertainment in every genre, from some of the biggest hits of the year, to some little-known indie gems making their premieres on MOD.

Among the major studio titles making their television premieres via MOD is Despicable Me 2, this summer’s worldwide phenomenon (2nd highest grossing film of 2013), a huge hit among critics and audiences alike. The film’s loveable Minions will invade cable homes everywhere starting the day before Christmas. Also on tap for December is Fast & Furious 6 (Unedited) with Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Dwayne Johnson driving the latest chapter of the high-octane franchise.  Hugh Jackman gets a double-feature this month.  He is back in action as The Wolverine, with the story transporting these famous comic book characters to Japan. He also stars along with Jake Gyllenhaal in the intense thriller about two missing children, Prisoners, which got over 80% on Rotten Tomatoes from both reviewers and fans.  For sci-fi lovers, from the director of District 9 comes Elysium, an allegory about class struggles set in 2054, with Matt Damon and Jodie Foster.   Also of note is Don Jon, which is Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s feature film directorial and screenwriting debut and which he stars in with Scarlett Johannson.

Most of the major releases below premiere on MOD the same day as DVD release and are offered in both standard and high-definition**, as are many indies. The industry’s website, www.rentmoviesondemand.com is an at-a-glance look at most premiere titles along with synopses, trailers and Rotten Tomatoes® scores. In addition to new premieres, a wealth of library titles is always playing on MOD.   Like us on Facebook at: www.facebook.com/moviesondemand
