A NEW SEASON OF MLS DIRECT KICK PREMIERES ON MARCH 2, 2013 WITH UP TO 236 GAMES ON DIGITAL CABLE
Longest-Ever Free Preview Runs from March 2-9
Newly-Added Enhancement Provides Same Day Replays
NEW YORK - Feb. 27 - Major League Soccer (MLS) is primed for a new action-packed season beginning on March 2, 2013 and this year the MLS Direct Kick package on digital cable delivers more games than last year with up to 236 regular season MLS games, plus select MLS Cup playoff games . This year digital cable offers the longest-ever free preview, running a full week from March 2 through 9. Also, for the first time ever, the cable package will include same day replays for those who have missed games. Through an agreement between national distributor iN DEMAND and MLS, digital cable subscribers nationwide will be able to get the full 2013 season for only $79.
SAME DAY REPLAYS: Each live game is re-aired beginning approximately one hour after live play ends so that fans can see games they might have missed. Each game will replay in its entirety, repeated continuously overnight and the next day, on the same channel, for 24 hours or until the following day's live games begin.
PRE AND POST-SHOWS
The package will include pre- and post-shows for select games, delivered from regional sports networks.
Among the cable MSOs offering the package this year through iN DEMAND are: Xfinity, Time Warner Cable, Cox Communications, Bright House Networks, Cablevision, FiOS TV, RCN, Armstrong, Metrocast, Bristol Virginia Utilities, Openband, Suddenlink Communications, Toledo Blade, Pencor, plus a number of other affiliates.
This is Major League Soccer's eighteenth season, and the league now has 19 teams.
